Kathy Adamson, RMT

registered massage therapist

Kathy holds a dual registration in both Ontario and BC since 2014.  She understands the benefits of massage therapy from personal experience so she can continue to live an active life of running, biking, skiing, hiking, cross-fit training, yoga and pilates.  She gained experience at local events providing pre-post massage with para-athletes, endurance athletes, hockey players and seniors nursing facilities, treating a wide spectrum of conditions while continuing to broaden her knowledge.

Kathy is also trained in:

AIS Level 1 (Active Isolated Stretch)
The key to success to AIS lies in the understanding that only relaxed myofascial                 structures will allow themselves to be fully stretched

-Vodder’s Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Basic and Therapy 1

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the Lymph, which is responsible for extracting bacteria, viruses and waste away from the tissue and out of the body. People with medical needs and those who are healthy can both benefit from MLD.

The immune system is also tied to the Lymphatic system.  If the flow slows the immune system weakens.  MLD improves the function of the immune system and increases the production of antibodies that fight off infections and reduces inflammation in the body.  MLD is very relaxing, reduces stress, pain and benefits the following conditions, just to mention a few:

  • frequent illness (colds, flu, sinus infection)
  • muscle tension
  • migraines (even during a migraine)
  • concussions
  • pre-post surgery
  • pre-post cosmetic surgery
  • insomnia
  • sprains/strains
  • frozen shoulder
  • vertigo
  • sciatic pain
  • frozen shoulder
  • whiplash
  • pre-post atheletic events
  • plantar fasciitis
  • carpal tunnel
